Judo: The qualification in Judo is based on World Ranking. The ranking period is between 24 June 22 to 23 June 2024. India will most probably get one contintental quota in Judo. Currently Avtar Singh in Men’s 100 kg is in qualification spot. Still one year to go for close of qualification. Read Judo qualification system here.

Modern Pentathalon: There are 3 ways through which quotas will be allocated going ahead: 5 quotas at 2023 Asian Games, 3 quotas at 2024 World Championship and 6 through World ranking. Currently highest ranked Indian athletes: Men – Mayank Chaphekar (119), Women – No one from India.

Rowing: There are 3 qualification events scheduled in Rowing: 2023 World Rowing Championships (3-10 Sept), Asia & Oceania Qualifier (April 2024), Final Olympic Qualifier (May 2024). India will pin its hope of getting a quota at Asian Qualifiers.

Rugby Sevens: In both Men’s & Women’s event, 2 tournaments will act as qualifiers – 2023 Asian Qualifiers (18-19 November) & a final Olympic qualifer (May 2024). Realistically, India does not have a chance to qualify for Rugby Sevens.

Sailing: 6 qualification events are scheduled in Sailing: 2023 World Championship (10-20 August), 2024 World Championship – Laser Radial (3-10 Jan 2024), 2024 World Championship – Laser (24-31 Jan 2024), 2023 Asian Games, 2023 Asian Championships (Dec 2023), Final Olympic Qualifier (April 2024). India got 4 quotas at Tokyo Olympics. Let us see how many we get at Paris Olympics. Read Sailing qualification system here.

Shooting: India already has got 3 Olympic quotas in Shooting (1 Men’s 10m Air Rifle, 1 Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Position, 1 Men’s Trap). Upcoming qualification events: 2023 World Championships (14-31 August), 2023 Asian Shooting Championships ( 22 Oct – 2 Nov 2023), 2024 Asian Shotgun Shooting Championships (12-23 Jan), 2024 Asian Rifle & Pistol Shooting Championships (Feb 2024), ISSF World Olympic Qualifier (April 2024). Shooting is one sport where India would expect lots of more quotas coming in. Read Shooting qualification system here.

Skateboarding: The qualification in Skateboarding is dependent on Olympic rankings. The time period for ranking is till June 2024. Current highest ranked Indian athletes: Female Street: Urmila (103), Male Street: Shubham (180), Male Park: Shivam (127). There are only 22 quota places available in each event. Hence, India does not seem to have a chance at a quota currently.

Sports Climbing: 3 qualification events will provide quotas in Sports Climbing: 2023 World Championships (1-12 August 2023), 2023 Asian Qualifier (3-7 November 2023), Olympic Qualifer Series (March-June 2024). Currently highest ranked Indian athletes: Men Speed – Deepu (81), Women Speed – Shivpreet (73), Men Lead & Boulder – Maibam (90), Women Lead & Boulder – Prateeksha (81).
