On to the calendar for October:

Asian Games 2026

The Asian Games will conclude on 4th October. The next Asian Games will take place in 2030 in Doha, Qatar.

Cricket

Indian Men’s Cricket team will play West Indies at home for a 5-match T20 series.

India v WI T20: 3 Oct, 6 Oct, 9 Oct, 11 Oct, 14 Oct

After this series, India will tour New Zealand for 5 T20s, 3 ODIs and 2 Test match series.

India v New Zealand T20 Series: 22 Oct, 24 Oct, 27 Oct, 30 Oct, 1 Nov.

Indian Women’s cricket team on the other hand will tour Zimbabwe for 3 match T20 series and a 3 match ODI series.

T20 Series: 16 Oct, 18 Oct, 20 Oct
ODI Series: 23 Oct, 25 Oct, 28 Oct

Badminton

The BWF World Tour will move to Europe in October.

6-11 October: Finland Open (BWF 500)
13-18 October: Denmark Open (BWF 750)
20-25 October: French Open (BWF 750)
27 Oct – 1 Nov: German Open (BWF 500)

Table Tennis

World Table Tennis Tour has big events in October.

1-11 Oct: China Smash
19-25 Oct: Asian Championships
27 Oct – 1 Nov: WTT Champions Montpellier
28 Oct – 1 Nov: WTT Feeder Chennai

Golf

India will be hosting 2 events in October.

Women’s Ladies European Tour:
22-25 October: Hero Women’s India Open

DP World Tour:
16-19 October: DP World India Championships

Football

Indian Men’s football team will be hosting Uruguay and Brazil for a friendly.

3 Oct: India v Brazil
6 Oct: India v Uruguay

On the Women’s football front, they will be facing Russia in 2 friendly matches.

8 Oct: India v Russia, Kolkata
11 Oct: India v Russia, Kolkata

Shooting

8-16 Oct: ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol – Egypt

Track Cycling

China will be hosting the 2026 UCI Track Cycling World Championships between 14-18 October.

Wrestling

The 2026 World Wrestling Championships will take place in Kazakhstan during 24 October – 1 November.

Weightlifting

The 2026 World Weightlifting Championships will take place in China from 27 October to 8 November.

Gymnastics

2026 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships are scheduled to take place in Netherlands between 17-25 October. This is a 2028 LA Olympic qualification event.
