Here is quick recap of results from Day 5!
Boxing: Pooja Rani is through to Quarter-Finals in Women’s 75 kg category. She is up against 2nd seed Chinese boxer in next round.
Badminton: PV Sindhu is through to Pre-QF of Women’s Singles. She takes on Danish player Mia Blichfeldt in next match. Sai Praneeth lost his 2nd group game and got knocked out in group stage itself.
Hockey: Indian Women’s team lost their 3rd consecutive group game. They lost to Great Britain 4-1. Indian team is now 5th in the table after 3 games.
Rowing: Arjun/Arvind finished 6th in their Semi-final of Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls. They failed to qualify for the final medal race. They will now take part in 7-12 classification race.
Sailing: Indian pair of Varun/Ganapathy are in 18th position after 4 races in Men’s 49er. They finished 18, 17 and 19 in race 2, 3 and 4 respectively today.
Archery: Deepika Kumari is through to Women’s Individual Pre-QF. Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav lost in Round of 32 matches.

Round of 64 – Deepika 6-0 Karma (BHU)
Round of 32 – Deepika 6-4 Jennifer (USA)
Pravin Jadhav:
Round of 64: Pravin 6-0 Galsan (ROC)
Round of 32: Pravin 0-6 Ellison Brady (USA)
Tarundeep Rai:
Round of 64: Tarundeep 6-4 Hunbin (UKR)
Round of 32: Tarundeep 5-6 Itay (ISR)
3:20 PM – Boxing – Sai Praneeth lost his second group game to Mark Caljouw 14-21 14-21. He is knocked out of the tournament.
3:10 PM Archery – Deepika Kumari is into Pre-QF of Women’s Individual event.
3 PM – Boxing – Pooja Rani is into QF of Women’s 75 kg category!
2:20 PM – Archery – Deepika Kumari moves into Round of 32 in Women’s Individual event.
1:30 PM – Archery – Pravin Jadhav loses his Round of 32 match against World No. 1 Ellison Brady 6-0.
12:50 PM – Archery – Pravin Jadhav is through to Round of 32 in Men’s Individual event.
11 AM – Sailing: Varun/Ganapathy finished 18, 17 & 19 in Race 2, 3 and 4 respectively. After 4 races, the Indian pair is ranked 18th overall in Men’s 49er event.
8:35 AM – Badminton – PV Sindhu is through to Pre-QF in Women’s Singles.
8:30 AM – Archery – Tarundeep Rai loses in Round of 32 to Israeli Itay in a shoot-off. After 5 sets, scores were level at 5-5. Itay won the shoot-off.
8:10 AM – Rowing – Indian pair of Arjun/Arvind finish 6th in their Semi-final race. They are out of the reckoning for final race. They will now compete in 7-12th ranking classification race.
8:05 AM – Indian Women’s Hockey team registers its 3rd consecutive loss. They lose their group game against Great Britain 4-1.
8 AM: Archery – Tarundeep Rai is through to Round of 32 in Men’s Singles. He will play his Round of 32 match shortly.
