Day 3
Here are all the results from Day 3 of Tokyo 2020 Olympics!
Archery: India lost to Korea in Men’s Team Quarter-Finals.
Boxing: Ashish Kumar got knocked out in Men’s Round of 32 in Men’s 75 kg category.
Tennis: Sumit Nagal lost to World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev 6-2 6-1 in Men’s Singles Round of 32.
Swimming: Sajan Prakash clocked 1:57.22 in Men’s 200m Butterfly. He finished 24th overall.
Badminton: Chirag/Satwik lost to World No. 1 Indonesian pair in their 2nd group game 21-13 21-12. All eyes on tomorrow’s match now.
Table Tennis: Sharath Kamal is through to Round 3 of Men’s Singles. Manika Batra lost her 3rd round match today.
Shooting: Both Angad & Mairaj failed to qualify for the final of Men’s Skeet. Angad finished 18th with a score of 120/125 and Mairaj finished 25th with a 117/125 score.
Fencing: Bhavani Devi had a good Olympics debut. She won her Round of 64 match comfortably against Tunisian fencer 15-3. In the Round of 32 match, she went down to World No. 3 Manon Brunet 15-7
Sailing: Nethra finished 15th and 40th in Race 3 and 4 respectively. After 4 races, she is currently 28th in Women’s Laser Radial event. In Laser Men’s event, Vishna Saravanan finsihed 20th and 24th in Race 2 and 3 respectively. He is placed 24th overall after 3 races.
Hockey: Indian Women’s Hockey team lost their 2nd group game against Germany 2-0. Indian team had their chances throughout the match but failed on capitalize on them. India is win less after 2 games. 3 more group games to go.
4 PM: Swimming – Sajan Prakash clocks 1:57.22 in Men’s 200m Butterfly. He finishes 24th overall.
3:25 PM: Boxing – Ashish Kumar is knocked out in Round of 32 of Men’s 75 kg category. He lost by a unanimous 5:0 decision to Chinese boxer Erbieke.
1:35 PM: Sailing: Nethra finishes 40th in Race 4 of Women’s Laser Radial. After 4 races, she is 28th overall. 6 more races to go.
1:30 PM: Table Tennis: Manika loses in the 3rd Round of Women’s Singles. She lost to 10th seed Austrian Sofia 4-0
11:50 AM: Sumit Nagal loses to Daniil Medvedev 6-2 6-1 in Men’s Singles Round of 32.
11 AM: Shooting – Both Angad & Mairaj fail to qualify for Men’s Skeet final. Angad finished 18th with a score of 120/125 and Mairaj finished 25th with a 117/125 score.
10:30 AM: Archery – Indian Men’s team lose their QF match against Korea 6-0.
10:30 AM: Badminton – Chirag/Satwik go down to World No. 1 pair in straight sets 21-13 21-12
9:40 AM: Sailing – Vishnu Sarvanan finishes 20th in Race 2 of Men’s Laser. 2 more races scheduled for today.
9 AM: Table Tennis: Sutirtha Mukherjee loses her Round 2 match against Portugese player Fu Yu 4-0.
7:50 AM: Bhavani Devi loses to World No. 3 French fencer Manon 15-7 in Round of 32. Still a lot to be proud of.
7:25 AM: Sharath Kamal is through to Round 3 of Men’s Singles. he beats Portugese player Tiago 4-2.
6:20 AM: Indian Men’Archery team enters QF of team event. They will play Korea at 10:15 AM.
5:40 AM: That was some performance by Bhavani Devi. She is through to Round 2.
