Where will Artistic Gymnastics take place?

Gymnastic events will take place at the Cryto.com arena (DTLA arena)

Let us look at the qualification procedure.

Events in Artistic Gymnastics at the LA Olympics: There will be a total of 15 events.

Number of Quota Places:

192 athletes will qualify in Artistic Gymnastics.

How to Qualify:

Let us first look at Team Qualification:

12 teams will qualify for each of the Men’s and Women’s team events. Quotas will be given through 2 pathways:

  1. 2026 World Championship, 17-25 October 2026: Top 3 ranked teams at the 2026 World Championships will earn a team quota.
  2. 2027 World Championship, 29 September – 8 October, 2027: Top 9 ranked teams who have not qualified through 2026 pathway will earn a team quota.

Qualification for All-Around athletes:

  1. Quotas from nations who have qualified for Team event: Each nation that has qualified for the team event can enter up to a maximum of 5 athletes in the All-Around apparatus event.
  2. 2027 World Championships: The eight highest-ranked eligible men’s All-Around athletes and the 14 highest-ranked eligible women’s All-Around athletes, based on the All-Around Qualifications results, will obtain a quota place by name, with a maximum of one quota place per nation. Athletes from nations with a team that has qualified are not eligible to receive a quota place.

Qualification for Individual Apparatus Event:

  1. 2027 World Championship Quotas: The highest-ranked eligible athlete on each Apparatus, based on the apparatus finals results ( taking into account athletes ranked 1 to 3), will obtain one quota place by name. Athletes with team quota or all-around apparatus are not eligible for quota through this pathway.
  2. 2028 World Apparatus Series: The two highest-ranked eligible athletes per apparatus, based on the Olympic Qualification World Cup Ranking List, will obtain a quota place by name, with a maximum of one quota place per apparatus per NOC.
  3. 2028 Continental Championships: 1 quota will be given at respective continental Championships. The highest-ranked eligible athlete based either on the All -Around Qualifications results or the All-Around final results (i.e., at the discretion of the respective Continental Union and as outlined in the Directives concerned) will obtain one quota place by name.

Universality Places: Two universality places allocated by athlete’s name will be made available to one men’s athlete and one women’s athlete at LA28, provided that the athlete has met the
eligibility criteria.

India’s Chance of Qualification:

Indian gymnasts, based on their current performance level, do not have a chance at team or all-around apparatus qualification. They will seek a chance at individual apparatus qualification through World Apparatus series or Continental quotas.
