Here is a quick preview of 2021 Women’s Asia Cup..

2021 edition of Asia Cup will take place in Jordan from 27th September to 3rd October.

Here's why India's dramatic win at FIBA Women's Asia Cup is massive for basketball  in the country

Which teams are participating?

A total of 8 team are participating. They have been divided into 2 groups. Current World rankings are mentioned in bracket.

Group A: Japan (8), South Korea (19), New Zealand (36), India (70)

Group B: China (7), Australia (3), Philippines (51), Chinese Taipei (34)

Tournament Format:

Each team will play 3 matches in their respective groups. Top ranked team in each group will directly qualify for Semi-final. 2nd and 3rd ranked team will go into play-offs. Winners of play-offs will reach Semis.

The top 4 teams at this Asia Cup will qualify for 2022 Women’s Basketball World Cup qualifiers.

Team India’s schedule:

27 September (12:30 PM) – Japan v India

28 September (3:30 PM) – India v South Korea

29 September (3:30 PM) – New Zealand v India
