First, here are the top sports news from June:
- The headline in Indian Sports this month has been the Indian Men’s Volleyball team. As we write this, they are in the Semis and gunning for the AVC Men’s Cup. They won 5/5 matches in the group stage.
- India won 3 medals at the 2026 Asian Relay Championships.The
- Indian Women’s Hockey team won FIH Nations Cup 2026 & got promoted to FIH Pro League.
- Indian Men’s Archer Dhiraj was on fire at Turkey World Cup. He won the individual and mixed team event Gold by beating Korea in the final.
- Indian Women’s football team won 2026 SAFF Championships.

On to the calendar for July:
Commonwealth Games
The headline Sports event in July is going to be the Commonwealth Games 2026. It will be held in Glasgow, Scotland between 23 July and 2 August. 3000 athletes from 74 countries are expected to compete in 215 events across 11 Sports – Athletics, 3×3 Basketball, Bowls, Boxing, Track Cycling, Artistic Gymnastics, Judo, Netball, Swimming, Weightlifting.

Cricket
The Women’s T20 World Cup final is scheduled to take place in England on 5th July.
Post the World Cup, the Indian Women’s team will play England in a Test Match at Lord’s between 10-13 July.
On the Men’s Cricket front, India will be touring England for 5 T20s and 3 ODIs.
T20 Series: 1 Jul, 4 Jul, 7 Jul, 9 Jul, 11 Jul
ODI Series: 14 Jul, 16 Jul, 19 Jul
Post England tour, India will travel to Zimbabwe for a 3-match T20 Series:
India v Zimbabwe T20 Series: 23 Jul, 25 Jul, 26 Jul
Badminton
The BWF World Tour will be back to Asia for 3 events in July
14 -19 July: Japan Open (BWF 750)
21-26 July: China Open (BWF 1000)
28 July – 2 Aug: Taipei Open (BWF 300)
Table Tennis
Here are the events scheduled on the World Table Tennis tour:
1-5 July: WTT Feeder Turkey 2
8-12 July: WTT Feeder Paraguay
19-23 July: WTT Feeder Mongolia
21-26 July: WTT Star Contender Brazil
24-28 July: WTT Feeder Uzbekistan
Tennis
The 3rd Grand Slam of the year takes place in England. Indian Men’s doubles players Yuki Bhambri and Sriram Balaji will be in action with their respective partners.
29 Jun – 12 Jul: Wimbledon

Archery
The fourth Archery World Cup of 2026 will take place in Madrid, Spain during 7-12 July.
Shooting
2 ISSF Shooting World Cups scheduled in July:
5-12 July: Shotgun World Cup – Lonato, Italy
21-28 July: Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun World Cup – Hangzhou, China
Fencing
The 2026 World Fencing Championships will take place in Hong Kong, China from 22 to 30 July.
Athletics
3 meetings are scheduled in July in the 2026 Diamond League 2026 season.
4 July: Eugene Diamond League
10 July: Monaco Diamond League
18 July: London Diamond League
Golf
The 4th and 5th Women’s Golf majors are scheduled in July.
The Evian Championships: 9-12 July
AIG Women’s Open: 30 July – 2 Aug
Track Cycling
In UCI Track Cycling calendar, the following events are scheduled:
7-10 July: Korea Track Cup
22 July: Athens Grand Prix
24-25 July: South London Grand Prix
Basketball
The Indian Men’s Basketball team will be in action in the FIBA World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers.
2 July: India v Qatar
5 July: India v Lebanon
