First, here are the top sports news from May:
- Indian Men’s team won Bronze at the Thomas Cup 2026.
- The Indian Women’s Archery team won Gold at the Shanghai World Cup. En route to the gold medal, they defeated South Korea and China.
- Indian athletes created fresh national records in Men’s 100m, Men’s 400m, Men’s Decathlon, and Women’s High Jump.

On to the calendar for June:
Cricket
The Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in England.
12 June – 5 July: Women’s T20 World Cup
12 teams will take part. Format: 2 pools of 6 -> Semis -> Final
India’s group stage fixtures:
14 Jun: India v Pakistan – 7 PM
17 Jun: India v Netherlands – 7 PM
21 Jun: South Africa v India – 7 PM
25 Jun: India v Bangladesh – 7 PM
28 Jun: Australia v India – 7 PM

On the Men’s Cricket front, first Afghanistan will be travelling to India for 1 Test and 3 ODIs. Then India will be travelling to Ireland for 2 T20s.

Badminton
The BWF World Tour has 4 events scheduled in June.

Table Tennis
Here are the events scheduled on the World Table Tennis tour:

Tennis
Post the conclusion of the clay court season, the tennis tour will move to the grass court season.

Archery
The third Archery World Cup of 2026 will take place in Antalya, Turkey between 9-14 June.
Fencing
India will be hosting the Asian Fencing Championships 2026 in New Delhi between 19 and 24 June.
Athletics
The Diamond League 2026 season continues.
4 June: Rome Diamond League
7 June: Stockholm Diamond League
10 June: Oslo Diamond League
19 June: Doha Diamond League
28 June: Paris Diamond League
The 2026 Asian Relay Championship will take place in Shaoxing, China on 19-21 June.
Boxing
Stage 2 of the World Boxing Cup 2026 will take place in China during 15-20 June.
Hockey
Indian Women’s team will take part in FIH Women’s Nations Cup. The winner of this tournament will qualify for 2027 FIH Women’s Pro League.
FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup: 15-21 June, New Zealand

The Indian Men’s team will play the final 8 matches of FIH Pro League 2026 in Europe.

Asian Karate Championships are scheduled between 19-21 June in Indonesia.
Golf
The 2nd and 3rd Women’s Golf majors are scheduled in June. Aditi Ashok would be in action.
US Women’s Open: 4-7 June

Football
Indian Men’s team will play 2 international friendlies against Tajikistan on 5th and 9th June. In other Football news, the 2026 Men’s FIFA World Cup will kick off in North America. A tournament which remains a very distant dream for Indian football fans 🙁
