Number of Quota Places:
A total of 76 athletes will qualify.

How to Qualify:
The qualification is based on the following qualification pathways.
- Continental Multisport Event: The highest-placed athlete from each gender at the 2027 European and Pan American Games will obtain one quota place. This applies to each of the 6 events.
- World Climbing Championships, August 2027: The winner of each of the 6 events at the World Championships will qualify for the Olympics.
- World Continental Qualifiers, Sept-Dec 2027: There will be continental qualifiers for Asia, Africa and Oceania. The winner of each qualifier gets an Olympic quota.
- Olympic Qualifier Series, 2028: Remaining quota places for each event will be given through the Olympic Qualifier Series. 3 events will take place in the qualifier series, and quotas will be allocated based on cumulative points across the 3 qualifiers.
- Host Country Quota: USA gets 1 quota in each of the 6 events as the host country.
- Universality Places: 1 quota in each of the events will be given through universality places. For an athlete to be eligible for a universality place quota, he/she has to first qualify for the Olympic qualifier series.

Practically, there is no chance for an Indian sports climber to qualify for the Olympics, given the current performance level. Having said that, in the recent past, Indian Sports climbers have improved their performance. Plus, there are only 12-14 quota places up for grabs in each event.
