It has been some days since the Paris 2024 Olympics wrapped up. We look at India’s performance at Paris Olympics through some numbers…
- Manu Bhaker became the 1st Indian athlete to win 2 medals at a single Olympics. She won Bronze in Women’s 10m Air Pistol and 10m Air Pistol Mixed event.
2. 63 nations won at least 1 Gold Medal at the Paris Olympics. Unfortunately India was not one of them.
3. India finished at 71st rank with 1 Silver and 5 Bronze medals. This is our lowest rank since the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
4. At 2022 Asian Games, India finished 4th in medal table. However, at 2024 Paris Olympics India was the 16th best Asian country. Quite a difference from the continental games!
5. India had a record-high 6 fourth place finish at Paris 2024!

6. India won 3 medals in Shooting at Paris 2024. India had never won three medals in one sport before at a single Olympic Games.
7. India beat Australia in Men’s Hockey at an Olympics for the first time after 52 years.
8. 21 shooters qualified for the Paris Olympics. This was largest ever shooting squad qualified by India.
9. Indian shooters qualified for 6 finals at Paris Olympics – Highest ever till now.
