October is going to be a blockbuster month for Sports fans. Here are all the events to look forward to..

Asian Games 2023

The 2023 Asian Games will conclude on 8th October. So, 8 days of Asian Games sporting action in store for us. You can check daily schedule on our site.

Cricket

2023 Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup: India will host 2023 World Cup. It is scheduled to take place between 5th October and 19th November. All 10 teams will play each other in a round robin format and top 4 will qualify for Semis. Here are India’s fixtures in October.

8th October: India v Australia – Chennai
11th October: India v Afghanistan – Delhi
14th October: India v Pakistan – Ahmedabad
19th October: Bangladesh v India – Pune
22nd October: India v New Zealand – Dharmshala
29th October: India v England – Lucknow

Badminton

Post Asian Games, the BWF World Tour will move to Europe.

Finland Open (BWF 500): 10-15 October
Denmark Open (BWF 750): 17-22 October
French Open (BWF 750): 24-29 October

Table Tennis

Post Asian Games, World Table Tennis Tour will resume in Asia.

WTT Star Contender Lanzhou: 2-8 October
WTT Contender Muscat: 8-14 October
WTT Contender Antalya: 16-22 October
WTT Champions Frankfurt: 29 October – 5 November

Canoe Slalom

2023 Asian Canoe Slalom Championships will take place in Japan between 27-29 October. This is an Olympic qualifier.

Mountain Bike Cycling

2023 Asian Mountain Bike Championship will take place in Kerala between 26-29 October. This is an Olympic qualifier event.

Golf

On the Ladies European Tour, India will be hosting Hero Women’s Open in Gurgaon between 19-22 October.

Football

Indian Men’s football team will take part in Merdeka Tournament in Malaysia. 4 teams taking part in the tournament: India, Malaysia, Palestine, Tajikistan

13 October: India v Malaysia
17 October: Final/3rd place match.

Indian Women’s Football team will take part in Round 2 of 2024 Paris Olympic’s Asian Qualifying Tournament. India is drawn in Group C along with Japan, Veitnam and Uzbekistan. All matches will take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

26 October: Japan v India
29 October: India v Vietnam
1 November: Uzbekistan v India

Gymnastics

2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship will take place in Belgium between 30 September to 8 October. This is an Olympic qualifier event.

Shooting

2023 Asian Shooting Championships will take place in Korea between 22 Oct – 2 Nov. This is an Olympic qualifier event. 2 quotas will be given in each event at this tournament.

Karate

2023 World Karate Championships will take place in Hungary between 24-29 October.

Hockey

2023 Women’s Asian Champions Trophy will take place in Ranchi between 27 October – 5 November. 6 teams are expected to take part – India, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand.

Handball

Asian Men’s Handball Olympic qualifier will take place between 18-28 October in Doha. Winner of the tournament will qualify for Paris Olympics. 11 teams are grouped into 2 pools. Top 2 teams qualify for Semis. India is in group A along with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, UAE and China.

18 Oct: Saudi Arabia v India
21 Oct: South Korea v India
22 Oct: India v China
24 Oct: UAE v India

Tennis

Follwing events are scheduled on ATP Tour. Indian Doubles players will be taking part in these events.

2-9 Oct: Shanghai Masters (ATP 1000)
16-22 Oct: Japan Open (ATP 500), European Open (ATP 250), Stockholm Open (ATP 250)
23-29 Oct: Swiss Indoors (ATP 500), Vienna Open (ATP 500)

Fencing

1 Oct: Tournoi Satellite Belgium – CA Bhavani Devi will take part in Sabre.
