Another exciting month of Sports action is in front of us. Here are the events to watch in October.
The 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup kicks-off in Australia. India start their campaign against Pakistan on 23rd October.
T20 World Cup – 16 October – 13 November
In the build up to the World Cup, India will play 3 T20s and 3 ODIs against South Africa.
T20 series: 28 Sept, 1 Oct, 4 Oct
ODI series: 6 Oct, 9 Oct, 11 Oct
On the Women’s cricket side, India take part in the T20 Asia Cup to be held in Bangladesh. 7 teams are participating the tournament – Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, UAE
2022 Women’s T20 Asia Cup: 1-16 October
Shooting: The 2022 World Shotgun Championship continues in Croatia. Olympic quotas are available in this event.
2022 World Rifle/Pistol Championship will take place in Egypt between 12-25 October. Olympic quotas will also be awarded in this event.
Archery: 2022 World Archery Championship takes place in USA between 3-9 October.
Badminton: BWF World Tour resumes in Europe with 2 back to back Super 750 events.
Denmark Open: 18-23 October
French Open: 25-30 October
Table Tennis: 2022 World Table Tennis Team Championships take place in Chin between 30 September and 9 October. Another 2 major events are scheduled in October:
WTT Champions Macau: 19-23 October
WTT Cup Finals Xinxiang: 27-30 October
Track Cycling: 2022 UCI World Track Cycling Championships take place in France between 12-16 October.
Judo: 2022 World Judo Championships will take place in Uzbekistan between 6-13 October. Points accumulated at this event will be considered for Road to Paris 2024 ranking list.
Golf: The Ladies European Tour comes to India. India will be hosting Women’s India Open in Gurugram between 20-23 October.
Hockey: India start their 2022-23 Men’s Pro League campaign in Orissa with 2 matches.
28 October: India v New Zealand
30 October: India v Spain
Football: India will be hosting FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup between 11-30 October.
