Sports Calendar: September 2022

Here is a look at the sports events to watch in September!


The cricket calendar will be headlined by Asia Cup for Indian cricket fans. Australia will then travel to India for 3 T20s.

Asia Cup: 27 Aug – 11 Sept

India v Australia – 3 T20s – 20 Sept, 23 Sept, 25 Sept

In Women’s Cricket, Indian team is touring England for 3 T20 and 3 ODIs.

T20 Series – 10 Sept, 13 Sept, 15 Sept

ODI Series – 18 Sept, 21 Sept, 24 Sept

Badminton: Post the BWF World Championship, BWF World Tour continues in Japan.

Yonex Japan Open: 30 August – 4 September

Table Tennis: It is going to be big month in Table Tennis with couple of contender events on World Table Tennis Tour and then the World Table Team Championships towards end of the month.

WTT Contender Muscat: 5-10 September

WTT Contender Almaty: 13-18 September

2022 ITTF World Team Championships Finals: 30 Sept – 9 Oct


The 4th and final grand slam of the year takes place in New York. US Open – 29 Aug – 11 Sept

Davis Cup World Group 1 first round match: Norway v India – 16-17 September

After a long time, India will be hosting a WTA event. WTA Chennai Open takes place between 12-18 September.


2022 World Wrestling Championships takes place in Serbia between 10-18 September.


World Shotgun Shooting Championships takes place in Croatia between 20 September – 12 October. This is an Olympic qualification event with 4 quotas available in following 4 events – Men’s Trap, Women’s Trap, Men’s Skeet and Women’s Skeet.


World Eventing Championship takes place in Italy between 14-18 September. Fouaad Mirza will be taking part in this event.


World Rowing Championship takes place in Czech Republic between 18-25 September.


World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship takes place between 12-18 September in Bulgaria.

Wishing all Indian athletes success in the sports events in coming month.


Indian Men’s football team is scheduled to play 2 friendlies.

24 Sept – India v Singapore

27 Sept – India v Vietnam

In Women’s football, SAFF Championship is scheduled to take place between 6-19 September in Nepal.


The Grand finals of 2022 Diamond League will take place between 7-8 September in Zurich, Switzerland. Neeraj Chopra will be competing in Men’s Javelin Throw event.
