Here is what you can look forward to in the month of April.
Cricket: IPL 2021 will kick-off on 9th April. It is going to be a crucial tournament for all players who are taking part in it. The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled later in the year in India. This tournament will provide a great opportunity for everyone to get into the groove of T20 cricket.
Hockey: FIH 2020 Pro League was stopped last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Men’s team will resume their league matches this month. Indian team travels to Argentina for 2 away matches. India is currently 5th on the table having played only 6 matches.

Wrestling: In Wrestling Asian Olympic qualifiers will take place between 9-11 April in Kazakhstan. India has managed to achieve only 4 Olympic quotas till now out of a maximum of 18. Asian qualifiers will provide a great opportunity for wrestlers to book their spots at Tokyo Olympics.
Sailing: Asian Olympic qualifiers for Sailing will be held at the 2021 Mussanah Open Championship in Oman. This tournament is scheduled to take place between 1st & 8th April. Nethra Kumanan, first Indian woman to win a World Cup Series medal in Miami last year, is the one to watch out for.
Football – Indian Women’s football team is scheduled to play 2 international friendlies as part of their 2022 Asia Cup preparations.Both matches are scheduled to be played in Uzbekistan.

Archery: A World Cup in Archery is scheduled to take place in Guatemala in April. This event will provide good competition practice for archers going into the Olympics.

Weightlifting: Asian Weightlifting Championships which were postponed last year are scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan. It is a Gold level qualifying event for Tokyo Olympics. So, a good chance for Indian weightlifters to earn ranking points.

Tennis: On the tennis front, clay court season will be in focus ahead of French Open in May. Monte Carlo Masters is the ATP 1000 masters tournament scheduled for April. On the WTA Tour, Madrid Open is scheduled from 26th April.
On the National side, India will take on Latvia in Fed Cup World Group Play-offs. India has qualified for the World Group Play-offs for the first time after finishing second in the Asia/Oceania Group I tie last year.
