Sports events to watch in March!

March is a jam-packed month for Sports fans. There are so many events to look out for. Olympic qualifiers, return of Women’s cricket, crucial final Test versus England and much more…

Here are the Sports events to watch out for…

Men’s Cricket: England’s tour of India continues in the limited overs format. India will play England in 5 T20s and 3 ODIs in March.

4th Test – India v England : 4-8 March (India needs to win/draw this match to qualify for World Test Championship Final)
5 T20 Matches – 12 Mar, 14 Mar, 16 Mar, 18 Mar, 20 Mar
3 ODI Marches – 23 Mar, 26 Mar, 28 Mar

Women’s Cricket: Indian Women’s cricket team is finally back in action after an year. South African team is going to visit India for 5 ODI matches and 3 T20s. All matches are set to be played in Lucknow.

5 ODI Matches – 7 Mar, 10 Mar, 12 Mar, 14 Mar, 17 Mar
3 T20 Matches – 20 Mar, 22 Mar, 24 Mar

ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2021: India qualifies by virtue of being in top  4, join New Zealand, Australia, England

Football: 7th season of Indian Super League will conclude in March. Post completion of ISL, Indian Men’s football team will travel to Dubai for 2 international friendlies.

29 March – 🇮🇳 India v UAE 🇦🇪

Hockey: Indian Men’s hockey team is set to tour Europe for matches against Germany and Great Britian. Here is the schedule:
28 Feb – Germany v India
2 Mar – Germany v India
6 Mar – Great Britian v India
8 Mar: Great Britian v India

Tennis: There are various tournaments scheduled on the ATP as well as WTA tour. Sania Mirza’s return to the court is going to be highlight. She returns to actions in Qatar after an year.

ATP Tour: Rotterdam Open (1-7 March), Argentina Open (1-7 March), Qatar Open (8-14 March), Marseille Open (8-14 March), Santiago Open (8-14 March), Dubai Tennis Championship (15-21 March), Mexican Open (15-21 March), Miami Open (22 March onwards)

WTA Tour: Qatar Open (1-7 March), Lyon Open (1-7 March), Dubai Tennis Championship (8-14 March), Mexico Open (8-14 March), St. {etersburg Open (15-21 March), Miami Open (22 March onwards)

Badminton: BWF World Tour 2021 kicks-off in March.2 tournaments are scheduled for March – Yonex Swiss Open (2-7 March), All England Badminton Championships (17-21 March).

Shooting: New Delhi will hosting the ISSF World Cup from 18th to 29th March. This tournament is important from an Olympic qualification point of view since points earned at this tournament will count for Olympic ranking quota places.

Fencing: Fencing tournaments will mark a return after almost an year. Bhavani Devi will be taking part in Budapest World Cup from 11th to 14th March. This is the last tournament in Sabre category before Olympic quotas based on rankings are announced on 5th April, 2021.

Table Tennis: It is going to be a crucial month for Table Tennis at Asian Olympic qualifiers are scheduled in March. Table Tennis players will travel to Doha for 2 WTT events. Post World Tour Events, there is going to Olympic qualifiers. All 4 events are scheduled in Doha.

WTT Contender Event – 28 Feb – 4 Mar
WTT Star Contender – 5-13 Mar
World Olympic Singles Qualification tournament – 14-17 Mar
Asian Olympic Qualification tournament – 18-20 Mar

Wrestling: Before the Asian Olympic qualifiers in April, Indian Wrestlers will travel to Italy to take part in the Matteo Pellicone Ranking series event.
