We are now less than 3 years away from LA 2028 Olympics. Earlier this month, the organizing committee released the schedule for the games. We look at events that are of keen interest from an Indian standpoint and look at their schedule.

Here is the full schedule:

Archery:

Event Date: 21-28 July
Players to watch out: Compound Mixed Team has been added as an event. Given India’s performance in Compound, keep an eye out on Indian Compound archers like Abhishek and Jyothi.

Athletics:

Event Date: 15 – 30 July
Players to watch out: This one is OBVIOUS: Neeraj Chopra 🙂

Badminton:

Event Date: 15 – 24 July
Players to watch out: Quite a few young players are coming up: Ayush Shetty, Malvika Bhansod, Unnati Hooda, Priyanshu Rajawat. Got to see how they progress over next 3 years. And then there are usual suspects in Satwik & Chirag

Cricket:

Event Date: 12 – 29 July
Players to watch out: Both Men’s and Women’s team should be medal contenders. One interesting question we have in our head: Will the young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi make it to the Indian team for LA 2028?

Boxing:

Event Date: 15 – 30 July
Players to watch out: It would be interesting to see who makes it to LA 2028 in Boxing. Will Lovlina and Nikhat be consistent and be a medal contender for LA 2028?

Hockey:

Event Date: 12 – 29 July
Players to watch out: Given Indian team’s performance in first half of 2025, the big question currently is will both Men and Women team qualify for Olympics?

Shooting:

Event Date: 15 – 25 July
Players to watch out: Lots of young Indian shooters to keep an eye on. Hopefully we repeat the qualification performance of Paris 2024 and better our Olympic performance at LA 2028.

Weightlifting:

Event Date: 25 – 29 July
Players to watch out: Can Mirbai Chanu qualify for another Olympics?

Wrestling:

Event Date: 24 – 31 July
Players to watch out: Antim Panghal, Priya Malik, Deepak Punia
